WWOOF Independents
We list all WWOOF hosts in countries that do not have a national WWOOF organisation.
We are a membership organisation where volunteers (WWOOFers) pay a fee to join. In return they receive a list of hosts. It is then up to the WWOOFers to contact the hosts and make direct contact with the places that most interest them to arrange a stay. Volunteers usually live as part of the family.
The WWOOF arrangement is not paid, it is volunteer help in exchange for food, accommodation and learning opportunities in organic farming.
WWOOFers can help in varied tasks like: sowing seed, making compost, gardening, planting, cutting wood, weeding, harvesting, packing, milking, feeding, fencing, making mud-bricks, wine making, cheese making and bread making etc…
WWOOF hosts are mainly pursuing a simple, sustainable, lifestyle. Many are practising Permaculture or Bio-dynamic growing methods. Some farms are commercial producers, whether full or part time; others are alternative co-operatives or communities.
