GOING WWOOFING

Remember

> WWOOF is an exchange.
> Your host will be relying on you so inform them if you cannot honour any arrangements.
> Confirm arrival and leaving dates and times.
> Remember you are a guest, you are going to someone’s home...
> There may be cultural differences.
> Some hosts will have their own house rules.
> Help in the house is appreciated.
> Keep communicating.
> Working hours will vary. For longer WWOOF stays agree working hours and time off with your host beforehand.
> Resources vary from host to host.
> Host farms vary from gardens, small holdings and family farms to large businesses. They are all in different stages of development. If one situation doesn’t suit you, another will. Use the map to find site of host farms in the UK

Children and WWOOFing
Children are welcomed by many WWOOF hosts. Any necessary arrangements must be agreed between the member and host beforehand. A free advice leaflet is available from Main office.

You will need your own sleeping bag, waterproof clothing, work gloves and strong shoes/boots. You are also advised to take a torch, towel, indoor clothing and directions to your farm. Longer term WWOOFers can expect bedding.

Membership number
You must give your membership number to hosts with all correspondence by telephone, post, email or fax. You must sign the visitors book on arrival and show your membership card.

Accidents

You should insure yourself for third party liability when travelling. Overseas WWOOFers must provide their own health and third party liability insurance. Please make sure that Tetanus injections are up to date.

Complaints

Please send full written details to the WWOOF Main Office. Depending on the seriousness of the complaint, hosts and WWOOFers may be suspended while investigations are made.
